Grand Trine CBC

Today the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's 'Bande a part' included Grand Trine in a piece on the Montreal Weird Punk scene. Others featured included Aids Wolf, Red Mass, Duchess Says, and Les Georges Leningrad. écoutez.

We do not self-identify with the term but it was nice to be included anyway.

It would have been nice to see some Ultra Thin & Dead Wife but I guess they probably needed it to have a majority of French content - I am guessing anyway. It kind of made Weird Punk come off like a really shitty marketing term. OH WELL. Grunge...

i just don't get why they'd do a "weird punk" feature in the first place if they have rules about french content... nevermind the several "weird punk" bands from france that I assume don't even register on the radar of the know-nothings at radio-can.

i'm just annoyed 'cause they asked me a bunch of dumb questions , nothing about the actual BANDS and then put together the most random & half-assed playlist ever.

when i saw the list of bands i felt like a total fool for agreeing to be interviwed in the first place,. not that i would have done it if i hadn't been off my head on cold meds.

in what universe is jean leloup weird or punk?

gotta love quebec's insistence on being as cut off and provincial as possible ...
